Make
The Defect
Visible

Custom-engineered lighting designed around the product, defect, camera, and production environment. AIxLight creates the controlled image conditions machine vision systems need to inspect reflective, curved, textured, and difficult surfaces.

Detection Starts
With Light

A camera can only process what the lighting makes visible.

The wrong illumination can hide a defect, create false features, or make inspection results change as products move across the line. AIxLight is engineered around the inspection task rather than selected as a generic accessory.

Where Standard Lighting Falls Short

When lighting is the constraint, increasing camera resolution or changing the AI model may not solve the underlying imaging problem.

Hidden Defects

Scratches, folds, dents, and surface variations may disappear when the light approaches the product from the wrong direction.

Strong Reflections

Metallic films, coated materials, and curved surfaces can reflect light directly into the camera and obscure the inspection area.

Unstable Images

Ambient light, shadows, and uncontrolled reflections can change the appearance of the same product.

Poor Contrast

The product and defect may have similar colours or textures, giving the camera too little visual separation.

Limited Coverage

A standard light may not illuminate the full inspection width or match the camera's field of view.

Difficult Integration

Off-the-shelf lighting may not fit the available space, mounting position, line width, or existing control architecture.

BUT WHY?

The objective is not simply to add more light. It is to control how the product and defect appear to the camera.

Light for the Application

Linear Lighting

Linear Lighting

Custom-length linear lights provide focused illumination across production lines and continuous materials. Engineered around line width.

Tunnel Lighting

Tunnel Lighting

Tunnel configurations surround the inspection area with controlled illumination for difficult surfaces and external light shielding.

Ring Lighting

Ring Lighting

Ring lights place illumination around the camera’s viewing axis to support close, direct, and controlled inspection of individual parts.

Custom Formats

Custom Formats

When a standard format cannot create the required image, AIxLight can be configured specifically around your line geometry.

Control the Reflection

Reflective products require more than high brightness.

Consider a bubble-sheet surface with a metallic coating. A fold or raised area can produce a strong reflection, while other defects may disappear inside the glare.

A person can rotate the product and change the viewing angle. A fixed machine vision system usually cannot do that without adding mechanical complexity, more cameras, or more images.

AIxLight addresses the problem through controlled lighting geometry, helping the available camera views capture useful surface information.

Light. Capture.
Inspect.

We design and configure the illumination pathway as a precise engineering sequence, ensuring every targeted surface detail is perfectly rendered.

01

Define

Identify the defect, product, material, and inspection requirements.

02

Test

Evaluate how different lighting directions and mechanisms reveal or hide the target feature.

03

Configure

Select the lighting geometry, length, LEDs, housing, driver, and mounting approach.

04

Align

Position the light relative to the camera, product, and inspection area.

05

Validate

Test the resulting image under representative production conditions.

For Manufacturers

Use AIxLight when standard illumination hides your defects or introduces quality instability.

  • Defects are visible to the eye but unclear to the camera
  • Reflections obscure the inspection area
  • Image quality changes across the product surface
  • Existing lights do not cover the full line width
  • A new material behaves differently under the current lighting
  • Ambient light interferes with inspection
  • The current camera and processor are sufficient, but the image is not

Better Inspection Begins Before the Image

If a defect is not visible in the captured image, additional processing cannot recover information the camera never received. AIxLight engineers the illumination around what must be detected and how the production line actually operates.
